My name is Christina Xenos. Welcome to my kitchen!
I am a professional chef, cookbook author, and journalist based in Los Angeles, California. My company, Sweet Greek Personal Chef Services, tantalizes palates throughout the city with full culinary services, cooking classes, and Greek-themed pop-up dining experiences, which have been featured in Food & Wine magazine and Where Los Angeles magazine.
I provide busy professionals, families and food lovers with professionally prepared, fully customized menus, created with hand-selected fresh ingredients. These meals are prepared from scratch in your home; then packaged, stored and labeled with simple re-heating instructions. All you have to do is come home to a spotless kitchen and enjoy. In addition to my in-home meal services, I am also available to cook for private parties and offer culinary classes where you can learn to cook everything from baklava to braised short ribs.
Along with Theo Stephan, I recently co-authored Opa! The Healthy Greek Cookbook: Modern Mediterranean Recipes for Living the Good Life (Rockridge Press, Nov. 2017), a collection of 90 Greek recipes, which offers a creative new voice in the cannon of Greek cooking.
We will bring the dishes of the book back to Greece with a weekend-long celebration of local food and wine in Chania, Crete, June 15-17, 2018. The experience will culminate with an indulgent dinner at Biolea Estate.
As members of Les Dames d’Escoffier International, we wererecently featured with master chef Argiro Barbarigou for Aegean Secrets, a dinner honoring the cuisine of the Southern Aegean at the James Beard House in March 2018.
I am Greek-American, with family roots on the islands of Crete and Milos. My culinary career began at an early age baking Greek delicacies for Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church festival in Dayton, Ohio. I honed my chef skills in professional cooking and baking at the New School of Cooking in Los Angeles, and I often return to Greece — especially my family’s home on the south coast of Crete — to indulge in the local offerings.
