About Christina Xenos

Hi I’m Christina Xenos ~

Welcome to my kitchen!

I am a professional chef, cookbook author, recipe developer, and journalist based in Los Angeles, California. My company, Sweet Greek Personal Chef Services, tantalizes palates throughout the city with full culinary services, cooking classes, and Greek-themed pop-up dining experiences, which have been featured in Food & Wine magazine among other media outlets.

Personal Chef Services

I provide busy professionals, families and food lovers with an array of professionally prepared, fully customized menus, created with hand-selected fresh ingredients. These meals are prepared from scratch in your home; then packaged, stored and labeled with simple re-heating instructions. All you have to do is come home to a spotless kitchen and enjoy.
In addition to my in-home personal chef and meal prep services, I am also available to cook for small private parties and offer private and group cooking classes where you can learn to make everything from baklava to braised short ribs.

Cookbooks and Collaborations

I am the co-author of two cookbooks: Opa! The Healthy Greek Cookbook: Modern Mediterranean Recipes for Living the Good Life (Rockridge Press, Nov. 2017), a collection of 90 Greek recipes, which offers a creative new voice in the cannon of Greek cooking; and Saffron, an 88-page, full-color travel-cookbooklet that explores saffron in Greece, tips on best uses and storage of the spice, 12 lively saffron-forward recipes to inspire the beginner and advanced home cook, and a photography story of the annual saffron harvest in Krokos, one of forty small villages in the town of Kozani, Western Macedonia, Greece.

I’ve also worked with brands like MorningStar Farms, Athens Foods, Ninja, Russell Stover Chocolates,  and Thermomix to collaborate and develop recipes and pop-up events around their product lines.

In March 2018, I was also one of six featured chefs and members of Les Dames d’Escoffier International to cook with Master Chef Argiro Barbarigou at the James Beard House for her Aegean Secrets dinner, where we served an 8-course menu celebrating the cuisine of the Southern Aegean Islands.

Cooking Classes, Videos & Television Appearances

My goal is not only to create delicious food for you, but also to teach you how to feed yourself and your family. You can find some of my most popular cooking videos here, or check out my YouTube channel for a larger selection. I have also recently appeared on The Cooking Channel’s Food: Fact or Fiction and NBC’s A New Leaf. Look for me soon on season 2 of Tastemade’s Frankie vs. the Internet

Travel to Crete with Christina Xenos

From May 13-19, 2023 I will lead an exclusive in-depth, week-long culinary tour where you can taste what makes Crete one of the most dynamic food-focused islands in the Mediterranean. Get unprecedented access to everything from mountain wineries with sweeping vistas, to apiaries where bees spin pollen into liquid gold. We will peek in on a local ceramicist, and I will show you how to cook some of the island’s most iconic recipes. We’ll end the week with an epic alfresco barbecue, dancing, and more. Modern Adventure‘s tours are truly one of a kind, and I can’t wait to give you and inside look at my family’s island. Find the full itinerary HERE!
